He has nothing to do with the papacy or the Vatican, and since the Jesuits are in league with the Vatican I would presume he also has nothing to do with them. I don't know anything about him consulting Jesuits in the making of the Passion of the Christ but I'm sure he consulted all sorts of 'experts' of various backgrounds. I personally thought the Passion of the Christ was a great movie and I have a lot of respect for Gibson, even though I disagree with Catholicism.
